Join Us

We do not hold auditions. Our players have a full range of abilities, and we play music which will challenge and interest everyone. Many people hone their skills here, or keep their advanced skills sharp. True beginners would have a rough time, but many who have not played since high school or college hone their skills with us.

We welcome players of any instrument, but we are in particular need of:

• Bassoon
• Percussion

Membership

We welcome new players to try us out for a few rehearsals, and see the fun of our group. If you are planning to play with us for a while, we encourage players to support the band by becoming a member.

Membership dues are $45 per semester, or $90 per year. Those who are not able to pay dues are encouraged to volunteer their talents to support our band. Membership dues are the primary source of revenue of our band, and are key to keeping us running.

Since the Seward Concert Band is a nonprofit organization, membership dues as well as all costs associated with your time with us, including mileage, instrument expenses, and other needs are all tax deductible.

Digital Music Distribution

The Seward Concert Band is working through scanning their music library, and we have begun sharing sheet music digitally for pieces when we are able.

Access links are shared with performers as we prepare for new concert cycles. Some performers access digitally via tablets, but most read from printed copies. Prints are coordinated in larger sections, and assistance is provided to performers without technology resources.
